Definition: Research Paper
• When we do deep study into a technical field
of knowledge, we often come up with
interesting findings.
• We need to share those findings with others.
• One way is to publish them as an article in a
journal.
• Such article is called ‘technical research paper’

Different types of Research Paper
• Experimental research paper: Researchers conduct an
experiment and share their results in the paper. Data is
provided, and inferences are drawn from its analysis.

• Survey research paper: Responses are collected from

the research participants via interview. Those
responses are analyzed. Conclusions are based on the
outcomes of the analysis.

• Problem-solution research paper: It is the research

paper in which the authors discuss a problem, propose
a suitable solution for it, and defend it.

Organization of Information
Step 1: Data collection
We all have our primary data before writing a paper.
The survey, the experiment, the results of the
experiment come under primary data.
We also need secondary data to show the context of
our research. Secondary data is research done by
others.

1st part: Background Info

Secondary data is used. We write a brief history

about the issue we are researching, and what

till the end.
• We mention the parameters of measurement.
• We include pictures of the device, flowcharts
of the process.
• We include graphs and charts display the
results.
