Clip Studio Paint is the program I will use for the project. Based on the research I have done; it is a
program that is well regarded and is used by many creators of digital comics.

I have already downloaded the software for the program and have attempted to use it. It seems easier
to use than most programs I have looked at which will be good. I am unable to use my stylus on the
touchscreen of my laptop, but I can use a mouse. I have not tried to draw with a mouse before, so this is
my first obstacle. I do have a back up plans if I cannot use my touchscreen:

- Using the same app but on an iPad

- Hand draw everything then scans it into the program.

Either of these are quick solutions that I have learned from reading on the website of Clip Studio Paint.
Through the site, I have looked at different tutorials for using the program. A few have been about the
basic workings of the program, and others have been specific to making comics. I also have read
tutorials on painting in the program and using the watercolour brushes. The two styles I am debating
between are a flowy, painterly style comic versus a sketchy one where it doesn’t have a smooth finish.

The main inspiration for this project is the comics on Webtoon. There are two types of comics, original
and canvas. Originals are the comics that are endorsed by webtoon and get paid for there worked being
on the app. Typically the quality of work is better on the originals side of the app. The other type is
canvas. Canvas is where anyone can upload their work. These comics are enjoyable, but in some cases
the art isn’t high quality. I really want to stress that ANYONE can upload to it.
