Dear Principal and School District Fine Arts Administration,

I am writing in regards to the band director position at Blank School. As a new

teacher from James Madison University, I am eager to start my career. I am also
eager to start teaching students in a way that highlights the strengths of music
education’s past while implementing techniques that will better cater to students’
needs in the future.

As a teacher, I want to take students for who they are and try to help them
improve. Each of their starting points will be different, so I want to be able to
accommodate all students at the same time. In a post-pandemic world, this will be
more important than ever. Using the principles of winding, I can facilitate my
instruction in a way that includes every degree of ability no matter the activity.
Ultimately, my goal is that students will be able to achieve the goals set out for them
in class, and be able to use the skills attained for the rest of their lives.

I want everyone in my classroom to feel as though they are safe to share

experiences with one another and to grow as individuals. This can be done in many
ways through the power of music. Thank you for considering me for a position. I
