The IT Shared Services Department at the University of North Texas

System is seeking to hire a Data Center Computer Operator III to join
their team. This position is responsible for carrying out daily hardware
and software monitoring tasks, configuring and reacting to hardware
and software alerts, datacenter infrastructure updates, and
coordinating maintenance activities. The Computer Operator III is
responsible for monitoring of the Data Center infrastructure Service
Level Agreements (SLA) and maintenance of Data Center operating
processes, disaster recovery plans, policies, and procedures. The
Computer Operator III directly assists the Computer Operations
Supervisor in the performance of his tasks including assisting in job
interviews, developing and maintaining infrastructure monitoring and is
a significant part of the on-call rotation. Works under limited
supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and
independent judgment. Responsibilities of the position include, but are
not limited to: * Provide technical support and monitor day to day
operations of the Data Centers. * Assist the Computer Operations
Manager in managing the daily workflow for all efforts involved in
deploying and sustaining technology within the ITSS data centers. *
Assist the Computer Operations Supervisor in the development of
processes and procedures. * Assist in the development of workflows
and procedures for the team based on industry standard framework. *
Coordinate and assist in service maintenance activities. * Updating
and verifying operations website data * Assists the Computer
Operations Manager in managing the capacity and capabilities for our
Data Centers * Works with the Computer Operations Supervisor and
other IT Operations staff in the development of DR/BC Plans for
Position Operations including running regular preparedness drills.
