Aim(s) of lesson:

 The general aim(s) of the lesson are :


* to reinforce Ss confidence in their ability to use the English language;
* to develop Ss communicative competence by using proper vocabulary;
* to give Ss practice in talking about landmarks and landscapes of the world using comparatives and
superlatives
* to make Ss aware of the importance of learning English;
 The specific aim(s) of the lesson are:
* by the end of the class my Ss should be able to use comparatives and superlatives and talk about
landscapes and landmarks of the world

Specific competences: 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.4, 3.1, 3.2

Objectives of teaching:
1. Cognitive objectives: by the end of the lesson the Ss will be able to:
- use comparatives and superlatives
- discover landscapes and landmarks of the world
- compare various landscapes and landmarks of the world
2. Affective objectives:
- to give Ss confidence in their ability to use the English language;
- to have fun while studying the English language.
- to stimulate Ss’ imagination

Assumed knowledge: Ss have already studied/heard about some travel destinations, geographical features,
tourist attractions

Students’ problems:
I anticipate that the following may cause problems:
 Ss. may find it difficult to pronounce some words in English;
 Ss. may have difficulties in using the English language to express themselves, or when speaking;

 Personality clash - Solution: T rearranges the groups/pairs


 Some Ss might not be interested in the topic - Solution: T uses mime, body movements, jokes
 Some Ss might have problems with commands - Solution: explanations given in L1

Dealing with mistakes:


Accuracy: 1. Ss correction – self correction
2. if 1 doesn’t work – peer correction
3. if 1&2 don’t work – T provides the correct answer and will probably revise the teaching

Fluency: T doesn’t intervene in the activity to correct the mistakes not break Ss’ communication. T can put
down notes and deal with them the next time.
