Unless otherwise specified, brushes are machined with the tolerances given in the table below in conformity
with the recommendation IEC 136 © (1986), with standard AFNOR C 51902 (March 1968) and standard
DIN 43000 (December 1973).
Concerning the significance of standardized dimensions "t", "a", and "r" please refer to technical note entitled
"Standardization of the dimensions of brushes for electrical machines (STA AE 16-36).
Brush-holders: the tolerances of the relevant brush-holder cases must be in conformity with tolerance ISA E 10.
METAL-IMPREGNATED BRUSHES
These brushes sometimes work under difficult conditions (machines without filters, closed motors, high temperature, etc.)
which might harm their good sliding in the brush-holder sheaths. The IEC publication, in these particular cases, recommends
a clearance increase.
At a user's request we can apply this recommendation and in this case advise tolerances below, while keeping the same
nominal values.
