Predict the Future: Future of Energy Industry in Bangladesh

Energy is the most important sector for any developed country. It is the main powerhouse that
ensures progress and helps the country to be stable. The USA relies heavily on nuclear
power. It able them to produce a huge amount of energy. The industries need the energy to
run properly.

But every nation is always looking for better energy source. In Europe, few countries use wind
energy. Most use nuclear energy. The country with better energy source, grows quickly.
Better energy source, ensure future stability. The energy industry not only powers the
industry. It also helps run the transportation system.

Bangladesh is no different. The country mostly relies on Biomass, Natural Gas, Imported Oil,
Coal, and Hydropower. Bangladesh consumes 62% of the biomass, 25% of natural gas, 12%
of imported oil, and 1% of both coal and hydropower. [ CITATION DrA091 \l 1033 ]

Biomass and hydropower are the primary renewable energy. Although the resources that
Bangladesh currently uses are helping the country grow at present. Soon, the resources will
dry out. These resources are not eco-friendly either.

So, Bangladesh has to find different energy sources. Most well-developed countries invest in
Nuclear power, Solar Power.

Nuclear power is dangerous and expensive to maintain. But, once operational, it can run up to
40-60 years. [ CITATION Moo09 \l 1033 ] Which can reduce environmental pollution. It will also
save 50 years of fossil fuel. But it is very dangerous. The Uranium is a common nuclear fuel.
It won’t last forever. It is better to avoid for long-term use.

I personally think solar energy is the best source of energy for Bangladesh. It is eco-friendly.
Easily accessible. Bangladesh is suitable for it. A small solar energy system is enough. It can
produce energy to run electronics devices.

The use of solar energy is increasing. Bangladesh is building a nuclear reactor as well. It will
be operational soon. It will help produce energy. The demand of energy will reduce. This will
help Bangladesh progress further. One day, Bangladesh will be among the well developed
countries.
