Applicability
Introduction
Some 2014 – 2015 model year Corolla vehicles equipped with a 2ZR-FE or 2ZR-FAE engine may
exhibit a MIL “ON” condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2420 (Evaporative Emission
Pressure Switching Valve Stuck OFF). Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address
this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY
• This repair is covered under the Toyota Federal Emissions Warranty. This warranty is in effect
for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
* Essential SST.
NOTE
• Only ONE of the Techstream units listed above is required.
• Additional Techstream units may be ordered by calling Approved Dealer Equipment (ADE) at
1-800-368-6787.
Repair Procedure
1. Use Techstream to check for DTCs and confirm the condition described in the Introduction
is present.
Is the condition present?
• YES — Continue to step 2.
• NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.
2. Replace the Charcoal Canister Assembly.

6. Verify no codes were set during the utility, then test drive the vehicle to confirm the repair and
verify no codes are present.
