CONCLUSION

It can be concluded that the hypothesis of the experiments which is to understand the
physical characteristics and properties of enzymes, and study the factors which affects the
enzyme activity was achieved. From the results obtained, it can be said that the enzyme
activities is maintained at pH of 7, as enzymes is sensitive to change in it surroundings.
Changing the pH value may affect the active site or denatured and hence, disturbing its
activity [ CITATION BBC \l 17417 ]. Concentration of substrate used will also affect the
enzyme activity as more substrate used, more product will be formed. However, this factors
contains limit as when enzymes became saturated, increment in concentration will no longer
affect rate of reaction. The other factor studied which is temperature of reactions shows that
the enzyme activity works best at normal body temperature, 37°C, which is also the optimum
temperature for enzyme activity. Hence, it can be concluded that concentration of substrate
used, and temperature of reaction affects the enzyme activity.
