This movie begins with Jordan Belfort, the film's main character, losing his job as a Wall Street stockbroker. Mark Hanna had taught Jordan
Belfort that he knew how to sell stocks. The founder of the Wall Street Stock Exchange was Mark Hanna. Jordan always looked up to him
because, in one year, he made over a million dollars. This is ironic because Jordan thought that in his lifetime he would never be able to
make that much money, when he would make that much in just one week a few years later! To create different plans to become wealthy,
Jordan used the tips he learned from Mark Hanna. To his clients, Mark Hanna was not a very honest guy, but his clients made money at the
end of the day. He told Jordan regularly that the best way to make the most profit is to lie to customers. Mark said that it is a fame called
moving money from your clients pocket in your pocket but then he asked Jordan that if you are additionally making the clinet’s money as
well then it will be more advantageous Jordan said NO, Then mark said that being in wall street nobody is interested if the stock prices are
going left or right up or down all you have to do is to pretend that you know everything. And make your client believe that too. Later, Jordan
left the stock market on Wall Street because he believed he had learned enough to make money on his own. On the Wall Street Stock
Exchange, he received just 1% commission. He goes and gets a job in a Long Island brokerage room called INVESTOR'S CENTER that he
learned in a newspaper after losing his job. He discovered that people didn't really work there, they didn't use computers or software, they
just had "pink sheet," a lot of small companies had their name on it, this brokerage room worked between the seller and the buyer as a
middleman. They received a fee of 50% from this. These stocks were bought by plumbers or postman (lower class people) He sells penny
stocks in the brokerage space. He was able to make a profit due to him being aggressive with his selling abilities. He gained enough to buy
a luxury car after a short time, Jordan starts working with his new friend Dennie, then they meet some other friends that Jordan knew, they
weren't trained but could sell something. They opened their own brokerage company and began selling them. This firm was called Stratton
Oakmont. He gives his wife a bracelet with the new salary, and she asked him why he doesn't go after people who can afford to lose
money, not middle-class people or people with lower incomes. This is when he gets the idea of getting a lot of young people to become the
best stock brokers and train them. That they can be sufficiently educated and qualified to sell it to rich people. Hundreds of aspiring young
financiers flock to his business after an exposition in Forbes. Jordan becomes highly popular and falls into a decadent prostitute and drug
lifestyle. He has an affair with a woman named Naomi Lapaglia; Jordan divorces her when his wife finds out, and marries Naomi in 1991.
The SEC and the FBI, meanwhile, are continuing to investigate Stratton Oakmont. In 1993, upon securing Steve Madden's IPO, Jordan
illegally made $22 million in three hours. This brings him and his company to the FBI's notice even more. Jordan opens a Swiss bank
account with corrupt banker Jean-Jacques Saurel in order to conceal his earnings, in the name of Naomi's Aunt Emma, who is a British
national and thus out of the control of the American authorities. To smuggle the money Jordan uses his friends wife ( bra bodnick’s wife)
and in laws because they had European passport. Donnie gets into a public brawl with Brad; Donnie escapes, but Brad gets arrested. Brad
does not say a thing to the police about Donnie or Jordan. Jordan hears from his private investigator that his phones are being wiretapped
by the FBI. Jordan's father, fearing for his son, tells him to leave Stratton Oakmont and lie low while Jordan's lawyer negotiates an
arrangement to keep him out of jail. However, Jordan can not bear to leave and speaks about remaining in the center of his farewell
address. When they learned that Aunt Emma had died of a heart attack, Jordan, Donnie and their wives went to Italy on a yacht trip in
1996.Jordan plans to fly directly to Switzerland to settle the bank account. He orders his yacht captain to sail to Monaco in order to
circumvent border controls, but the ship capsizes in a storm. When a seagull flies into the engine after their escape, the plane sent to take
them to Geneva is destroyed; Jordan takes this as a message from God and tries to sober up. Two years later, Jordan was arrested by the
FBI because Jean Jacques Saurel, arrested on an unrelated charge in Florida, had told the FBI about Jordan. Jordan offers to obtain proof
from his superiors in exchange for leniency, as the evidence against him is overwhelming. Naomi tells Jordan at home that she's divorcing
him and wants complete custody of their daughter and baby son; Jordan attempts to drive away with his daughter in an impulsive, cocaine-
fueled rage and crashes his car in the driveway. Jordan later wears a wire to work, but slips a note to Donnie, warning him that whatever
he's about to say will be noticed by the FBI via the wire he's wearing. The FBI discovers this, Jordan is arrested, and Stratton Oakmont is
raided and shut down. Jordan gets a conditional sentence of 36 months in a minimum security prison for his testimony after breaking his
contract and is released after serving 22 months. Jordan makes a living hosting seminars on sales strategies after his release.
