Q 1. Sketch a grashof planar 4R mechanism. The link length of the smallest link is equal to the last
three digits of your SC no. The input link is rotating with an angular velocity of 10 radians per second,
and angular acceleration of 0.01 times the last three digits of your Student code.

Choose an input angle (other than 0 or n*pi/2). Find the angular acceleration and angular velocity of
the other links, and the velocity and acceleration of the joints.

Use analytical method and graphical method (using velocity and acceleration polygons).

Q2. An automobile is moving with a velocity of 60kmph. Conduct the velocity and acceleration
analysis of the slider crank mechanism. The angular position of crank is measured from the TDC, and
is equal to the last three digits of your SC no. Mention the make of automobile you are choosing for
this problem. All the other relevant inputs for solving this problem should correspond to the make of
automobile you are selecting.

Use analytical method and graphical method (using velocity and acceleration polygons).

Compare the answers obtained using analytical and graphical methods, and give comments for
both questions.

Note:-

For graphical method any drawing softwares can be used.
