SCENE 1

INT TRAIN STATION - NIGHT

(A white train is parked at the side of the station with passengers exiting in a single file. We can observe a man with a red coat standing out. It's the year 2200. It is
almost past midnight and the station is filled with lights, a chilly night causing everyone to wear thick coats.)

POLICE OFFICER 1: Walk in a single file! Take out your identification cards and your job badge. (walking back and forth) If you're a level 1 or below take out
your certificate too! (screams)

MARK: I should have never stepped on that train. What was I thinking? (mumbles to himself) Mama only had two rules never let anyone know I'm unidentified and
don't get caught by the police (nervously looking around) Now I'm going to break both of them and get killed!

POLICE OFFICER 2: Why are you just standing here boy! (menacingly waving his gun) Move along (says loudly)

MARK: Sorry officer (he waves gestures with his hand) I was just getting my papers.

(we can soon see the check in centre where the identity cards were double checked)

MARK: What am I going to do now? (he legs and hands shaking) Should I run? Mama's stories about the world before this horrific identity cards were so sweet, a
world where people didn't need to be approved by the government to live due to overpopulation and a place where life was filled with joy and happiness instead of
fear and sadness
(the line gets short and MARK has almost reached the office)

MARK: I'll just quietly step out the line and then run for my life!

(MARK steps out of the line into the train tracks)

POLICE OFFICER 1: Why are you there? Get back here right away! (shrieks)

POLICE OFFICER 2: He's running away sir!(shocked) I think he doesn't have a card.

(POLICE OFFICERS start chasing MARK)

MARK: Oh no! (looking around for a place to hide)

(POLICE OFFICERS catch up to MARK and point gun at his head)

POLICE OFFICER 1: Kneel or be shot (snarls)

MARK: oh my god (kneels)
