What is It

In assembling wooden scaffolding, the equipment, tools, and

materials must be properly checked. The assembling area must be free
from any obstruction. Installation procedures must be precisely
followed.
We should follow this simple procedure in order to build or
construct a good wooden scaffolding;
It is necessary to prepare all tools, materials, and equipment
needed.
Lay out the required measurement on the lumber based on
the prepared working drawing.
Cut the lumber into its proper size.
Using fasteners or nails, connect outriggers to upright supports.
Secure cleats to outrigger.
Nail properly all diagonal braces to the upright support to
prevent lateral movement.
Nail the platforms to the outriggers.
Check the squareness, plumbness, and levelness of the
scaffolds.
Perform housekeeping after the operation.
Notify the teacher for assessment.

It is an important note also to always observe safety precautions

while working or performing and wear appropriate PPE during work.

What I Have Learned

From the lesson presented in this module, try to fill-in the blanks to
determine how much have you learned. You may use another sheet for
your answer.
I have learned that………….

It is necessary to prepare all ___________,

____________, and _____________ needed. Lay out the
required ___________ on the lumber based on the prepared
working drawing. Cut the ___________ into its proper size. Using
fasteners or nails, connect _______________ to upright supports.
Secure cleats to outrigger. Nail properly all

movement. Nail the ___________ to the outriggers. Check the
_______________, ______________, and __________ of the
scaffolds. Lastly, perform ________________ after the operation.
It is an important note also to always observe safety
precautions while working or performing and wear appropriate
PPE during work.

What I Can Do

Scaffolding is a temporary structure to help workers install

formworks and other parts of the building. In order to make a safe
one, we must know the necessary things we need to prepare and
procedures in making a simple wooden scaffolding.
As a learner, how can explain the picture below?
