Introduction about Dinh Co factory

Hình 3. 1 GPP Dinh Cố

Dinh Co gas processing plant was built in An Ngai town, Long Dat district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, 6
km north of Long Hai, about 10 miles from the landing point of gas pipeline from Bach Ho. kilometer.
Factory area is 89,600 m2 (320m long, 280m wide).

*Main purposes:

 Processing associated gas collected during oil exploitation at Bach Ho field.

 Supplying commercial gas as fuel for power plants in Ba Ria, Phu My, and as fuel for other industries.

 Recovery of liquid products with higher economic value than the original associated gas.

The plant construction will take advantage of a large amount of associated gas wasted offshore and
increase economic efficiency in the process of using it. Moreover, associated gas is a source of clean
energy to use, has low cost and is considered as an ideal fuel to replace coal, firewood, diesel ...

The associated gas from the Bach Ho field (107 km) off the coast of Vung Tau is transported via a 16
pipeline to Long Hai and processed at Dinh Co GPP plant to recover LPG and heavier hydrocarbons. The
dry gas after the heavy hydrocarbon extraction is transported to Ba Ria and Phu My for use as fuel for
the power plant.

The plant is designed with Turbo-Expander technology to recover C3, C4, and condensate. After exiting
the factory, liquid and gas products are led into three 6 ”pipes to LPG Thi Vai storage, 28km from Dinh
Co.

* Plant design and operation stages

Phase AMF: consists of two distillation towers, three heat exchangers, three separators to recover about
340 tons of condensate / day from 4.3 million m3 of wet gas / day. No compressors are used for this
segment.

MF stage: includes AMF units and additions a distillation unit, an 800 kW gas-powered reciprocating
compressor, three heat exchangers, three separators to recover the bupro mixture approximately 630
tons / day night and condensateeis about 380 tons / day.

GPP phase: with complete equipment such as design to recover 540 tons of propane / day, 415 tons of
butane / day and night and 400 tons of condensate / day and night. The GPP includes additional MF
equipment: 1 2200 kW turbo-expander, 1200 kW gas-powered 2-stage reciprocating compressor, 2
distillation towers, heat exchangers, cooling fans and others.
*Production

Sale Gas: also known as dry gas. It is the processed gas that meets the standards for transport by the
pipeline and meets the requirements of the customer. The dry gas is mainly CH4 (not less than 90%) and
C2H4.

LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas): Liquefied gas referred to as LPG, mainly composed of propane and
butane, is compressed until liquefied (saturated vapor pressure) at a certain temperature for storage
and transportation. When it changed from a gas to a liquid, its volume decreased by 250 times.

Condensate: Condensate, also known as condensate, is a homogeneous mixture in a straw yellow liquid
form. Hence the condensate tanks are painted straw yellow. Condensate is obtained from gas sources.
Condensate is composed of hydrocarbons with higher molecular weight and density than propane and
butane, commonly denoted C5 +. In addition to saturated hydrocarbons, Condensate also contains cyclic
hydrocarbons, aromatic nuclei.
