My Personal Philosophy

The philosophy that I will be discussing is Inclusive education for all children in Early

Childhood Education. As an educator, I view all children as little explorers with inquisitive

minds. Therefore, I want to create an environment that encourages collaborative play and being

playful with typical children and children who demonstrate challenges. I want to create

opportunities for problem-solving and to help scaffold children to become mighty learners.

Also, providing access to auditory/visual materials, as well as sensory bin experiences where

children’s fine motor skills begin to develop or improve.

I want children to understand that the classroom can be outside with nature as well. So I

want to take them for daily walks where they can climb the trees to strengthen their gross motor

skills, count fallen leaves, play a game of hide and seek where all children are included and can

function at their own pace while exploring their interests. This strategy will enhance and bring

to fruition children’s schemas, creativity, imaginative play, and dispositions. Ultimately, I will

aim to bridge the gap in Early Childhood Education in Jamaica by seeking assistance from the

relevant authorities to fully implement Inclusive Education for All Children instead of

constructing separate schools.
