A Day in the Life of Don Ho

I wake up and get dressed for today. I’m finally going to record myself singing Tiny
Bubbles. After my friend Leon Pober wrote it, I’ve been anxious to sing it. I feel like this will be my
big music break! I walk out of my house and get into my car. The drive to the studio is beautiful and
the sunrise is really nice. After I arrive at the studio I meet up with Leon Pober who gives me the
lyrics. I’ve been learning the lyrics and notes for the past couple of days now and I’m going to
actually use them for real now. I sit down onto the bar stool with my guitar and wait for the call.
I start getting anxious from waiting, I feel like it has been minutes even though it has
probably only been about a couple of seconds. Once I hear the call, I start singing and playing my
guitar. “Tiny bubbles, In the wine, Make me happy, Make me feel fine”. I feel better and start to calm
down from this morning’s rush out the door. After the recording, I got up and asked the director if
that was a good take or if I should redo it. He says that it was the best one yet and that he will get it
ready for selling. I yawn as I realized how tired that made me.
That doesn’t matter though, I’m still going to go out to the bar. I drive down the street and am
in a happy mood with everyone I pass. I arrive at my bar where I hang out sometimes with my
buddies. I order the regular drink (a glass of scotch). I celebrate the recording with a couple of
people there and have a couple of drinks. I end up playing a couple of my other songs on the piano
and have a good time. I head home without any unlucky things happening. I open my door and to my
bedroom where I pass out quickly.
That is probably not how that day went, but that is how I would write it.
