How To Practice Over The Drone Track
How To Practice Over The Drone Track
The most straightforward application you could do with the drone track is to play any scale or chord or arpeggio you
want with the drone note as a root note.
For example, while the C drone plays, you could play C major scale, C minor scale, C bebop scale or C major chord/arpeggio, C7b9 chord/arpeggio etc...
As you can see, there is enough material to practice and study (maybe enough for a lifetime!).
Another thing you could do is to take a scale and play all the chords that are in it just to see how they sound on top
of the root/key note.
For example, while the C drone plays, you could take C dorian and play all the chords/arpeggios that are in the scale (Cm, Dm, Eb, F, Gm, Adim, Bb).
There are many other things you could do, use your knowledge and imagination and keep going!
