What is MEDITATION
- One of the eight Yoga in Ashtanga Yoga - Dhyana(m)
- Practice Control - Mana(m/s), Buddhi and Chittam
- A way to Self liberalization
- Helps to control Mind
- Not a religious practice
BENEFITS OF MEDITATION

- Reduced stress, improved concentration, relieve emotions
- Improved memory
- Ability to face difficult situations in Life
- Better health
- Golden Body

PREPARATION FOR MEDITATION
- Don’t Meditate on either empty stomach or after full
meals
- Pick a regular time and meditate. Morning 4.30-6am is
best
- Meditating during Sunset is also helpful as this is the
time when human mind goes through unknown fear triggered
by subconscious mind.
- People who frequently worry, mentally disturbed under
depression should meditate both in the morning and during
Sunset
- Sit in Padmasana but not on floor. Use Kora(i) mat (not
plastic) or use Wooden Chair or Stool. If nothing is
available use White Cotton Cloth like Dhothi/Veshti
- Connect Tongue to palate. Why to connect?
WHEN/WHERE NOT TO MEDITATE
- Woman should avoid Meditation during the periods and also
2 days before and after
- When not in a comfortable place or in a safe place
- When in a dirty place or where negative energy could be
present

- Lack of Mind Control and mind wanders everywhere
- Maintaining body posture for long time
- Sitting Straight and maintaining Neck posture
- Disturbances in the Body that otherwise won’t happen
