CIRCLE GRAPH
-Used to visualize information and data.
-Used to easily show the results of an investigation in a
proportional manner.
The arcs of a
circle graph are
proportional to
how many
percent of
population gave a
certain answer.
Total person = 100

B= TV program

N= number of person watch that TV program

p= Ratio of person watch that TV program

B= n/100 = p(%)

-GA:17/100=0.17 (17%)

-FG:34/100=0.34 (34%)

-TB:15/100=0.15 (15%)

-GG:26/100=0.26 (26%)

-AFV:8/100=0.08 (8%)
To find the degress of each TV program we
MULTIPLY by 360.

p=ratio of person who watch different tv programs.

Arc= p*360 = Degress

GA: 0.17*360 = 61.2 degress

FG: 0.34*360 = 122.4 degress

TB: 0.15*360 = 54 degress

GG: 0.26*360 = 93.6 degress

AFV: 0.08*360 = 28.8 degress

At a private school, 300 students and faculty voted on adopting uniforms for students. The
results are shown in the table below. Display the results of this vote in a circle graph.
PICTOGRAPH
• A Pictograph is a way of showing data using images. Each image
stands for a certain number of things.
Different numbers of plants were planted by the students of a school on six days of a week. This
is shown in the following pictograph.

(ii) Find the total number of plants planted

during the week. 30 + 70 + 60 + 80 + 40 + 20
= 300

(iii) On which day were the maximum numbers of

plants planted? Thursday: 8 × 10 = 80 plants

(iv) On which day were the minimum numbers

of plants planted? Saturday: 2 × 10 = 20

(v) What is the difference between the

Answer the following questions on the basis of maximum and minimum numbers of plants
the given pictograph (one picture represents planted on the two days? Maximum numbers
10 plants): = 80 Minimum numbers = 20 Difference
between the maximum and minimum
numbers of plants planted on the two days =
(i) How many plants were planted each day?
80 – 20 = 60
Monday: 3 × 10 = 30 Tuesday: 7 × 10 = 70
Wednesday: 6 × 10 = 60 Thursday: 8 × 10 = 80
Friday: 4 × 10 = 40 Saturday: 2 × 10 = 20
