NROTC PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) is a program institutionalized


under Sections 38 and 39 of AFP RESERVIST ACT (RA No. 7077)
designed to provide mandatory military training to tertiary level
students in order to motivate, train, organize and mobilize them for
national preparedness.
Graduates of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) basic and
advance courses who has issued orders as enlisted reservist or reserve
officers of the AFP were referred in RA 7077 as CITIZEN ARMED
FORCE!

Mission: The mission of the Citizen Armed Force, alternately referred
to as the Reserve Force;

• To provide the base for the expansion of the Armed Forces of the
Philippines in the event of war, invasion or rebellion;
• To assist in relief and rescue during disasters or calamities;
• To assist in socio-economic development, and
• To assist in the operation and maintenance of essential government
or private utilities in the furtherance of overall mission.

The National Service Training Program (NSTP)
• The National Service Training Program (NSTP) institutionalized by the
Republic Act 9163 creating the Three (3) Components of the NSTP for
the Tertiary Education;
• Literacy Training Service (LTS)
• Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS)
• Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC)
• The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) has been made optional
and voluntary upon the affectivity of this Act.

BASIC NROTC TRAINING

Training Program Overview


 MS1 is a training prescribed of Basic NROTC Curriculum for First
Semester of First Year (freshmen) Tertiary Level students.
 Military Oriented Training prescribed for qualification as Enlisted
Reservist.
 Modular and Self-paced Blended Learning in nature.
 Online Evaluation/Examination.
 Pre-requisite for MS2.
Military Science (MS1)  Students Learning Evaluation will be composed of eight (8) Series of
Unit Exams; Four (4) UE prior Midterm and four (4) prior Final Exam.
 Four (4) Periodic Exams; Prelim, Midterm, Semi-final and Final Exam.
 Composed of 60% Knowledge Type Learning and 40% Practical
Exercises.

Training Program Overview


 MS2 is a training prescribed of Basic NROTC Curriculum for Second Semester of
First Year (freshmen) Tertiary Level students.
 Military Oriented Training prescribed for qualification as Enlisted Reservist.
 Modular and Self-paced Blended Learning in nature.
 Online Evaluation/Examination.
 Pre-requisite for MS3.
 Students Learning Evaluation will be composed of eight (8) Series of Unit Exams;
Military Science (MS2) Four (4) UE prior Midterm and four (4) prior Final Exam.
 Four (4) Periodic Exams; Prelim Exam for Midterm, Midterm, Prelim Exam for Final
and Final Exam.
 Composed of 40% Knowledge Type Learning and 60% Practical Exercises.
PROGRAM APPROACH/COA
PARTICIPANTS:
 Enrolled in the National Service Training Program (NSTP) under the NROTC
Component.
 Upon enrollment the student shall submit their mobile number and email
accounts (preferably Google Account) to the office of the NROTC
Commandant.
 Students from far flung areas and less fortunate to avail the online services of
the NROTC Modular and Self-paced Blended Learning Program shall
manifest their intentions to avail the printed materials of the course.

DURATION AND COURSE MODULES:
 The Training has a duration of Fifteen Training Weekends (15) or as
prescribed by the school administration.
 A Training Day consist of four (4) hours from 0800H to 1200H a total of sixty
(60) Academic hours.
 The Modules will be sent to the students Email accounts.
 In consideration to the less privilege students, the NROTCUs will provide
limited printed modules.
 Military Drills and Ceremonies Module, Weapons Training Module and
Visual/Audio Communication Module will be provided to the students in a form
of Video Presentation.

EXAMINATIONS:
 Students Learning Evaluation will be composed of Four (4) Series of Unit
Exams. There shall be four (4) Periodic Exams; Prelim, Midterm, Semi-final
and Final Exam.
 Examinations will be online via approved online platform.
 The Training Staff shall provide written exams and approved by the
Commandant for the less fortunate students under strict compliance to the
social distancing and coordination and approval of appropriate authorities.
 Students with three (3) consecutive days will consider as DROP.

 Any Electronic Device that may connect to internet for documents and video
communication such as Smart Phone, Tablet, Laptop and Desktop Computer.
 Reliable internet connection at least two (2) mbps
 Electronic File Storing Device like Flash Drive/External Hard Drive
 Email Address (Preferably Google Account)
 Printed NROTC Modules (Students from Far Flung Areas)
