Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy Level(s):

☐ Remembering ☒ Understanding ☐ Applying ☐ Analyzing ☐ Evaluating ☐ Creating

Levels of Technology Integration:

☒ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☐ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): I have chosen to create an E-Book for my preschoolers to learn about
the seasons. An E-book is a great tool for children in Pre-K, since none of the children can read yet. By using
PowerPoint, I’m able to make the book unique and easy for children to understand. This E-Book will help
children understand more about the seasons, and slowly introduce them into what the seasons are. This will
enhance learning for my students, having them try something they never have before. Creating a fun E-Book
through PowerPoint allows me to accommodate all of my children’s needs, and make the E-Book more on
their level of learning.

Lesson idea implementation:

As a teacher, I used my knowledge and created a fun E-Book for my students to learn about the seasons. I
will begin by having my students talk about the different temperatures they feel outside throughout the year.
Then I’ll transition into the reasoning of temperature always changing, by having them watch the
PowerPoint/E-Book I made. The E-Book is a quick 5-minute lesson, so students don’t lose interest so fast. I will
have my students listen to and watch the E-Book, and then I’ll have them answer questions towards the end.
By asking my students questions on what they learned, I can better assess what they’ve gained from this
lesson.
I can bring this lesson to a higher level by having my students create they’re own book about the seasons.
Since they’re still so young and can’t use PowerPoint very well, I would have them create artwork about the
seasons. I can even have them record their own audio over my E-Book, so they can be the ones explaining
what they’ve learned about the seasons. I can then conclude the lesson by having my students display what
they’ve learned about the seasons through their artwork in a book. This they can bring the artwork home and

explain in their own way what the seasons are.

Reflective Practice: I think this would encourage my students to want to learn more topics through a
PowerPoint/E-Book. This is a new and creative way to have students understand and remember important
knowledge that they’ll use in everyday life. I think students will learn a lot about the different seasons this
way, and will have them more engaged and willing to learn. Since this was an introduction to what the
seasons are, I could teach the next unit by bringing materials that relate to each season. So, every student
can relate to what is involved in each season. By bringing in real materials, students will be able to relate
and retain the knowledge more affectively.
