PROJECT SYNOPSIS

 Title of the project:

Modification of existing hydraulic power pack with cost effective technique.
(Or)
Design and analysis of existing hydraulic power pack with modification using cost effective technique.

 Objectives:
In today scenario, the scarcity of electricity is high and effective use of power is cost saving. For
above caption, all the company involves research and then implements the best power saving
technique.

 Scope:
We undergone research in Rane TRW Power Steering Systems Private Limited at Guduvancherry,
Chennai. We identified hydraulic power pack is used to clamp / declamp the work piece in fixture at
different machine. Also gear pump is used to transit fluid from power pack into machine found the
motor running continuously when machine is ON. So, the power consumption of motor is high.

 Limitation of existing power pack:

1. Motor running time increased, it leads shorten the bearing life.

2. Cylinder declamp suddenly, when the power cut at a time of machine it leads to accident and
damage of workplace.
3. Temperature of hydraulic fluid is high.
4. Production effect by breakdown of machines.
5. Production effect by breakdown of machines
6. Low efficiency and low reliability.
7. High maintenance cost.
  Methodology:
To overcome the above disadvantages of existing hydraulic power pack, we need some modification
to run the motor as per required instead of continuously running.
 Choose the right choice of pump.
 Choose the pressure switch as to provide into the flow path.
 Choose the accumulator as to provide into the flow.
