Fix and reuse - Barge
The request was to design an urban project, saving
the medieval buildings and maintaining the exi-
stent city. It was necessary to create a new residen- PROJECT
tial district, in order to let to the new inhabitants to live in
that city. It was important to develop places in which new
and old inhabitants could meet and get to know beer.

The best way to describe the project was a manifesto

manifesto, so we
could underline the most important aspects.

This project was based on two points:
on the first side the widespread ho-
tels, on the second one on the urban

acupunture.

It asked us to speak about the widespread hotel

that allows the visitors to live every aspect of a
place, as a resident does.
It gains much more fortune the more cities or
villages are welcoming and allow meeting and
sharing between the traveler and the inhabitants.

On the other side the urban acupunture makes

possible to improve selements acting only on
part of them. In this way it is possible to have
a positive development of the whole village, as
it happens in medicine for man, but also in this
case the desire for improvement is needed. The
project was focused on parts of the buildings
that needed maintenance, because they showed

The most important part of this project was its

town plan and there aren’t building taller than the
ones already built. The most interesting side of the NATURAL VENTILATION cold winds
site was the one on the river, for this reason all the north-east
buildings overlook to this direction.

Another important phase was the one where we

studied the metereological elements.
The energy needed by the building had to derive (in
a big part) from the sun
sun. For that reason we plan-

ned to put solar panels on roofs and, for example,
the lampposts of the park were thought with the
ability to obtain energy from itselves.
In addition to the energy was also important let to hot winds

Directions and speeds of winds were studied too. So
the hot winds are conveyed to the buildings and
at the same time rows of trees brake part of them.
On the other side there are the tallest buildings that

while we were designed the internal arrangement,
we decided to to place the common spaces in the

It’s all about a modulo
modulo.
The hexagonal shape and the six triangles that compose it are the focus of the project. The request was to create something
flexible and modular
modular, temporary but simple
PROJECT
simple. This was our answer to that question and we had 10 hours to design our proposal. The base
material was a baton of wood (dimension 6x6cm), at least every element structure had to be made of those batons, then they could be joined
with other materials: we used sheets of metal and glass. Those temporary structures didn’t need fundations and so didn’t alter the terrain in
which they were inserted.
We chosen to put a bee in the logo because of the shape and also because bees are smart so as our project, that could be used in different ways.
In those pictures is displayed how we were visualizing our project. In the backgroung is visible one of the courtyards where we had to insert
our structures. We placed the bike parking, the hammocks and the pic-nic table.
