Summary 6

Nadine was filing her nails, she stood up and put away the nail file. When she
was filing her nails, someone knocked at the door.
Nadine walked and opened the door, she said she was Jack´s secretary and she
received the letter from the postman. The postman wanted Nadine to give the
letter to Jack. She tried to read the letter, and she put the letter in front of her
and the lamp, but she couldn´t read it.
Nadine opened and read the letter, when she heard Jack´s steps. She stopped
reading the letter and she put back it, finally she stood up.
Jack entered his office, Nadine asked if he had a nice lunch, he answered he
didn't that he went to an Italian restaurant in the north beach, and he ate too
much.
Jack probably was sick with a stomachache, Jack asked Nadine if they had
anything for a stomachache, then Nadine answered Jack, she would look.
Nadine told Jack, she forgot to say Jack that he received the letter. Jack asked
Nadine when the letter come, she answered she received a few minutes ago.
Jack realized when he took the letter that Nadine opened the letter, Nadine told
Jack, let she guess a strange message from an old friend in an exotic country,
Jack was sarcastic and told Nadine that her intuition was amazing.
The letter said "Jack of heart" Remember me? He found the Captain´s gold.
Could finally pay Jack but need Jack help, signed by Steve Wild, Island of
Barbudos.
Nadine asked Jack what it meant and Jack answered Troubled! People brought
Jack lots of problems, big problems, little problems but this wasn´t Jack´s kind of
problems.
Nadine asked Jack who Steve Wild was; he replied Steve Wild was an old friend.
They worked together in the merchants marines. They sailed from Maine to
Mexico; and from Mexico to Cairo.
Jack and Steve used to drink too much and play too many card games. When
they were in the merchant marine.
The last time Jack saw Steve was 20 years ago. Nadine said a ghost from the
past, Jack deduce when Nadine read the letter that she was a very good
detective!
Nadine asked Jack what the Captain´s gold was, Jack answered he didn't know
and he was not interested. This wasn't his kind of problem.
When Jack and Nadine were speaking, the phone rang. Jack ordered Nadine to
answer the call but Nadine wanted Jack to answer the phone.
Jack received a threatening call. The call was from a strange woman. The
strange woman needed Jack to be careful, to stay away from Steve Wild. She
told him not to come to the island of Barbudos.
After, he hanged up the telephone Jack decided to leave on the first plane to
Barbudos and he made the reservations.
Nadine asked Jack if she was taking her with him, then he answered well she did
a fantastic job on the last case and she had a good luck.
Nadine told Jack, she wanted to be her partner. Jack told Nadine to try her luck,
to cut the cards, and high the card win. Nadine won the game because she got
Queen of diamonds and he got Jack of hearts. Jack said Nadine, she wasn´t a
secretary, now they were partners.
Jack asked Nadine where the atlas was, she answered it was on the shelf, and
he asked where Barbudos was, then Barbudos was southeast of Florida,
between Cuba and Haití.
In the plane, Nadine told Jack to tell her more about his friend Steve Wild. Jack
said Nadine, Steve was born in New York. His parents were poor. His father was
a factory worker so he didn´t earn very much money. There were seven children
in his family, Steve went to school and worked at the same time. He joined the
merchant marines when he was eighteen years old.
Nadine said about the Island of Barbudos offered a marvelous opportunity for
tourist.
Captain Kidd said once hid in mountains. He was a famous pirate. Captain Kidd
watched the Spanish ships from Devil´s Rock. They could take a boat trip and
saw Devil´s Rock.
The pilot said they were now entering the Bermuda Triangle. In 1958 a DC-3 was
flying from Florida to the Bahamas Island, it entered a cloud and it never came
out.
