How to make a copy of a Google Doc for all students in a class using

Google Classroom

(This also works for Google Slides, Sheets, and Drawings)

Step 1: Prepare and open the Google Doc you wants students to have a copy of

Step 2: Log into Google Classroom


Step 3: Click on the “Classwork” Tab

Step 4: Create an assignment


Step 5: Name the Assignment

Step 6: Select the Doc you want to share from your Drive
Step 7: Make a copy for each student

Step 8: Assign to students

All students will now have their own copy of the Google Doc they can access in Google
Classroom. Google will rename the document for each student and include their name.
