Problem definition

Loreto high school uses a completely manual employee payroll system that requires a lot of

human effort. There is increased scope for errors since individuals carry out all timesheets, taxes,

salaries and other processes and is a far more time-consuming activity. The existing system does

not allow real time reporting and analytics generation. Piles of paper documents comprising

manual recordings of employee time and attendance are inefficient and frustrating as well.

Current manual payroll system overburdens finance department with mundane activities such as

repetitive cross-checking and documentation. The current Loreto High School payroll processing

increases the chance of data getting into the hands of the wrong person and such leakage of

information can cost the school huge amounts. This is a less secure method as it involves a lot of

paperwork and does not have much scope for encryption.
