If animal welfare will be introduced into your own home country, what problem
will be occurred? Also how will you solve it?

Animal welfare is getting more attention from the Malaysian society and the world. In
Malaysia, the issue of animal welfare especially animal cruelty often gets highlighted
and attracts media attention. Various parties such as government agencies, local
government, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and institutions of higher
learning are involved in managing animal welfare activities.

Currently, animal welfare issues are addressed on an ad hoc and administrative basis,
while cruelty and abuse of animals are tackled through the Animals Act 1953 (Act 647)
and the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 (Act 716).

In order to enhance the animal welfare, The Animal Welfare Board (AWB) will be
established under the proposed Animal Welfare Act. This board will monitor and
evaluate the effectiveness of its implementation and report to the Minister of Agriculture
and Agro-Based Industry, Malaysia who will subsequently report to the Cabinet from
time to time.

Since Malaysia is a muslim majority country, stray dogs become an sensitive problem.
Some of the people who really take care about the animal welfare do not allow the
government officer to kill the stray dogs but some of the people dislike the stray dogs.
