Knowledge management is about leveraging people, resources, posses and

information in another objective and providing the right knowledge, right place and right
time. Knowledge management place with a rule in the avaibility and accsesbility of disaster
related information. Successful knowledge management is depend several keys principals.

Disasters, which disrupt society with enormous damage to the human life,
environment and economic resources treat women and men differently. Women are more
vulnerable to the consequences of disasters because of their social role. This emphasises the
need to achieve gender equality in disaster reduction and integrate a gendered perspective to
all policies and measures implemented in disaster management context. Gender
mainstreaming in disaster reduction allows women to decrease their vulnerability through
identifying their specific needs at the disaster management planning stage. Women are
empowered by gender mainstreaming to reach equality in decision making roles in disaster
reduction and to utilise their skills in planning and implementation of policies and measures.
After identifying the existing roles of men and women through gender analysis, gender
mainstreaming helps to achieve equality in disaster reduction by giving a comprehensive
understanding of the possible effects of policies and measures developed for disaster
reduction on gender roles. However, since disaster reduction and development have a close
inter relationship, gender mainstreaming in disaster reduction is a parallel and inter-linked
process to mainstreaming disaster reduction into sustainable development policies.

Technology is the tool that enables knowledge management to complete its various
operation and provides its services to the target audiences and achieves its goals. As
technology develops, the greater the possibility and effectiveness of knowledge management
in achieving its goals.

Knowledge management contains different processes and tasks, and each process
needs appropriate technology and tools to achieve its goals. Knowing the role technology
plays in the field of knowledge management enables you to choose the appropriate
technology for optimal use in this field.
Information technology plays a major role in knowledge management, but knowledge
management also exploits the progress made in all other technologies, such as mechanical
devices and others that help them achieve their goals and facilitate their achievement.
