9. Probable date of completion of the project:31-APRIL-2021

10. Scope / Objectives of the project(100Words):We will present a

theoretical model for a quadcopter type UAV to answer the
question of “How to implement an attitude controller on a
quadropter for indoor and outdoor flights as a step forward to
support the safety features in factory applications. Based on this
model and after tuning the values uses based on empirical tests
on safe-controlled environments , the stability of the real
prototype was tested for free flights both in interior and exterior
environments. On the development of the research phase,
theoretical and empirical methods were implemented. These
apporoaches were fundamentals as to show the direct
relationships between the theoretical model and the behavior
“change result” given by the empirical approach; therefore, the
obtained experimental results were proven to match with the
studied theories.
11. Literature Survey (At least two/ Within Five Years) :This paper describes
the current legal framework and regulations applied to industrial drone’s
flights established by different countries as a set pint on drones design
and applications. We present a mathematical approach used to build the
structure of an attitude controller for a quadrocopter(drone) as to answer
the question of “How to implement an attitude controller on a
quadrocopter for indoor and outdoor flights as a step forward to support
the safety features in factory applications.” The control system was
desgined for a quadrodone on ‘X’ configuration, which allows it to have
six degrees of freedom (6DOF) of movement, while commanded by four
inputs given by the radio controller (R/C). Accelerometers and
gyroscopes were used in order to obtain the data related to the drone
behavior during the flight to be able to control it. A cascade controller P-
PID was implemented in order to control the system and reach the
stability as well as in indoor or outdoor flights. The theories presented in
this paper were analyzed and proved on a real model resulting in the
desired flying behavior.

Patent Survey (Optional):-

12. Methodology (500 Words) :QUADCOPTER: A quadcopter or qudrotor
belongs to the family of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) , and it consists of
two pairs of counter-rotating rotors and propellers, located at the vertex of a
square frame. It is capable to perform vertical take-off and landings
(VTOL), similar to the typical helicopters. However the control system
between helicopter and quadcopters significantly differs from one to the
other due to the flying dynamics respectively.
DESIGN CRITERIA: It is needed to know exactly which regulations to
follow and the technical requirements to start with the design of the
quadcopter. Therefore, it is important to take in consideration where the
flights are going to be held, as do not incur any violation of the laws and
regulation. Additionally, it is important to establish the maximum weight of
the flying platform based on the law limitations as design criteria.
Our design criteria is based on the following ideal parameters.
-Maximum weight without load:
980 g (+/-98g) (4s, 14, 8V)
400 g (+/-40g) (3s, 11, 1V)
- Flight time
Battery (4s, 2200 mAh), ca 8-10 min, Weight-580g
Battery (4s, 4000 mAh), ca 18 min Weight -580 g
Once the design paremeters are set, the next step is to design the
control system. However, it is needed to understand in detail the system
to be controlled before to proceed to build the control system.
The whole quadcopeter setup consists of two clockwise rotating motors
and two counter-clockwise rotating motors on the vertex of a square
framework. The movement in space is achieved by the variation of the final
force and torque on each axis. To achieve the right variation of the torque
and force on the system the motors are configured to work on pairs. The
quadcopter translational motion requires tilting of the platform toward the
desired axis. Based on the motors arrange, it is just needed to change the
speed of one of the pair of motors as to cause motion in six degrees of
freedom (DOF). This is the reason that allows the quadcopter to move in
six DOF and be controlled just with four inputs.
Note: In case of fabrication work in the project, an engineering drawing with
dimensions / detailed design should be attached to the proposal.

13. Expected Outcome of the project (200Words) :Due to Small size of the
drones, they can usually penetrate into constricted spaces. Add to that,
many drones have effective cameras and this makes the drones suitable
for purposes of bomb detection. Thus, the aerial vehicles are apt for
making us aware of live bombs and save lives in the process.
Using drones could be an interesting idea. This reduces manual labor and
we will get a wider field of view. This also does not hamper the normal lives
of the people as they do not have to enter these dangerour areas
themselves. However, this does bring up the issue of invasion of privacy
where the ethical boundary is.
These unmanned aerial vehicles are also used for the purpose of air
strikes. They fly around suspected areas, as controlled by the defense
personnel, and they can be operated in particular areas in order to fulfill
military operations.
The world of media has really conquered the idea of using drones to their
fullest extent. A lot of movies these days are shot using quadcopters and
other drones.
