What should you do first when you see a
drowning individual?

4 ways to rescue someone from
drowning:
1. Reach
- Lay on your stomach.
- Reach out your hand.
- If necessary, hold a stick or towel to extend your
reach.
2. Throw

- Rope

- Life buoy

- Rescue tubes
3. Row
- If the victim is too far, use a boat to rescue.
4. Go
- Swim towards the victim

- Cross chest carry.


Fact:

An adult can last three


minutes of struggle in water
while children can only last
less than a minute.
Things not to do:

1. Jump in right away you saw a victim.


2. Make sure you, as the rescuer is safe.
3. If ever you will be forced to the GO method, do
not jump in front of the victim.
Lifesaving procedure:

1. Call the emergency hotline.


2. Get the victim out of the water.
3. Place the victim in a safe place.
4. Lay the victim on his/her back.
5. Ask if there is AED available around the area.
6. Perform CPR.
