SWING VENTS SLIDING MERIT DOOR and WINDOW SYSTEM-THERMAL DETAILS GENERAL MERIT THERMALwindows and doors can be supplied in either inward opening, outward opening, sliding or fixed configurations, They can also be made into combination windows. For example: 4) Sliding doors with fixed or top hung windows ‘above b) Fixed windows with inward or outward opening ina single outer frame. c) Outward or inward opening doors with adjacent fixed or opening windows MATERIALS. 1. All aluminium profiles are extruded in 6063, aluminium alloy. 2. The thermal break between inside and outside aluminium surfaces is achieved by, crimped into place, 16mm polyamide strips which minimize the heat transfer from outside to inside. 3, All gaskets and setting blocks are made from extruded E.P.D.M. - in a hardness to suit the application, 4. All fasteners within the framing system are made from 300 series stainless steal 5. A full range of Vistawall hardware is available for the various door and window types. FINISH 1. All visible aluminium is finished in either anodised, polyester powder or PVF2 painted finish to meet International Standards. 2. The polyamide stip thermal break allows the outside and inside visible surfaces of the thermally broken window and door systems to be finished in different colours - if desired. DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION 1. The Merit system has been designed to minimise the number of different profiles and accessories which makes it easier to use. 3,Glass thicknesses from 6 to 24 mm may be ‘accommodated 4. Window lacking mechanisms and hinges are clamped to the window profiles without special fabrication, 5. Weatherseal gaskets are generally of the push in type making replacement a simple task. 6. Mitred window framework joints are cleated and, crimped while tee joints are fixed with clamped into place tee-connectors. 7. Milered door framework joints are cleated and crimped while door bottom rails are fixed with screws into extruded aluminium splines. 8 The outer frame to sliding windows and doors are leated and crimped while the opening frame is fixed with screws into extruded aluminium splines, PERFORMANCE ‘The window system is designed to meet international performance standards for air infiltration and water penetration FABRICATION AND ASSEMBLY All fabrication should be carried out in the factory under strict quality control procedures in accordance with the Vistawall fabrication instructions. INSTALLATION Installation and glazing shall be performed by experienced installers in accordance with the Vistawall installation instructions. CLEANING Upon completion, the windows and doors are to be cleaned using plain water containing a mild detergent. if more aggressive cleaners are required to remove particular types of dir, recommendations should be sought from the window and glass supplier.
