Course Name : PRINCIPLES OF 2D ANIMATION

Course Code : EMC 104

Number of Units : 3

Course Description: This course discusses the fundamentals and principles of animation. It also covers the designing, development, and production of 2D arts and digital animation
using a modern (software-based) application software. It is designed to teach students bring a cast of characters to life by following the basic principles of animation interact
naturally with their environments, convey realistic emotion, and talk and walk convincingly. Students will explore the range of possibilities and limitations of dynamic media and
digital animation.

Online Course Goal: The goal for online learning is not be too prodigious, but guaranteeing that the students will learn online learning design using the Internet as a major
resource for learning, giving students more responsibility for finding and evaluating information themselves, and instructors will postulate criteria and guidelines for finding,
evaluating, analyzing and applying information within a specific knowledge domain.

Interactions in this course will be flexible learning. Lectures, discussions, laboratory hands-on activities, quizzes, major examinations, and project will be
done via Remote teaching and learning (synchronously, asynchronously, online and offline).
It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that he/she is added to all course-related online platforms:
✓ Important announcements will be posted on Messenger Group Chat and Google Classroom that will be created by the facilitator of
the course. ✓ Synchronous discussion will be facilitated via Google Meet.
✓ Delivery of PDF Lectures/Modules/YouTube video links of the lessons will be done on Google Classroom. It is also the responsibility of the student to download
the PDF lectures, watch the videos, or search for the recommended resources and materials for this course.
✓ Doing of laboratory hands-on activities will be done at home. Submission will be via Google Classroom.
✓ Discord will be used for the project’s collaboration to the other courses.
✓ Assessments such as written exams/quizzes/task sheets and major examinations will be done on Google Classroom via
Google Forms. ✓ Prompt and effective feedback will be provided to students every week in order to guide them in achieving
the desired outcomes.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
To successfully pass this course, students should be able to do the following:
✓ The attendance in this course is in contingent with the student compliance to the online activities and assessments.
✓ Attendance and participation in the synchronous discussion via Google Meet are required.

in this course.

As what was stated on the course requirements, the students should submit the project, laboratory hands-on activities, and written exams/quizzes/task sheets
on time. However, if the student failed to do so, he/she is given 5 days after the major examination (midterm and finals) to complete the tasks. This is to give the
facilitator time to check and compute for grades. Midterm and Final Grades must be submitted a week after the date of examination.
Submission of all course outputs will be done via Google Classroom.

STUDENT CONDUCT:
During synchronous learning (via Google Meet):
a. Smart casual attire should be worn. Sleeveless and sandos are not allowed.
b. Students should be on time in every session. Be in the virtual room 5-10 minutes before the scheduled classes.
c. Find a quiet place where there are no distractions.
d. Always turn on the PC/phone camera during the online session.
e. Mute the microphone while listening, the only time that it will unmute is when the facilitator ask questions and student will answer or the facilitator is done and it
