Eaton 9130 UPS, now available at 5 and 6 kVA, lowers total costs of ownership
for IT, process and infrastructure operators.

today announced the extension of Eaton 9130 tower UPS (uninterruptible power supply)
range to 5 and 6 kVA in Europe, Middle East and Africa region. The new power range will
support IT (Information Technology), process and infrastructure operators´ green initiatives,
allowing them to significantly lower total costs of ownership through higher efficiency design

Improved efficiency in the new Eaton 9130 5-6kVA UPS is guaranteed by a new multilevel
inverter that allows 95% efficiency in online double conversion mode and 98% in high
efficiency mode. “Efficiency is key to our customers. That is why we have implemented a new
multilevel inverter into this 9130 model that enables very high operating efficiencies and
lower total costs of ownership.” says Christophe Jammes, Product Manager at Eaton Power
Quality, EMEA. “The new inverter allows efficiency to be improved from 90 to 95 percent
compared to the previous product generation in this power range.”

The 0.9 output power factor allows to draw more power from this UPS than from its
predecessor or other UPSs in its class. The high power factor enables the 9130 to provide
full power capacity for today’s demanding IT equipment. The 9130 runtime can be prolonged
by adding up to four external battery modules (EBMs) to run the systems for hours. The 9130
also employs patented ABM® battery management technology that extends the battery
service life by 50 percent utilizing an intelligent charge method and providing up to 60 days’
notice of the end of useful battery service life.

Users can easily monitor the UPS operation through a multilingual, graphical LCD display
and enjoy a wide set of communication capabilities: USB and serial port, remote power off
connector, relay output connector and optional management card. The UPS delivery also
comes with an Eaton power management software suite as a standard, which includes the
new Intelligent Power Manager software for a simplified monitoring and management of the
UPS.
