^ƚƵĚŝŽ D offers classes in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz,
Tap, Modern, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Musical/Broadway,
Contemporary, Parent/Child, Pilates and Yoga. Our
dance year starts the Tuesday after Labor Day in
September and ends with our year end recital on the
weekend before Father’s Day in June. We accept
students throughout the year as long as there are
openings in the class. We also have a six week
summer session. In addition to our academy
classes, our students are invited to participate in our
in-house performance dance company called
ĂŶĐŝŶΖ, which performs and competes throughout
the year. We have three studios located in: Monroe,
New Glarus and Blanchardville. ^ƚƵĚŝŽ D offers
quality dance training in a noncompetitive, positive
atmosphere for dancers aged 2½ to adult; from the
beginner to the professional; special needs or
special requests. Our classes focus on the technique
required for each of the various dance forms we
teach. Our classes also include elements of dance
such as choreography, dance terminology, health
and safety issues, strengthening and creative
expression. We cater to the technical, emotional and
creative development of each dancer in our studio.
We are dedicated to the art of dance.

The City of Monroe Parks and Forestry provides tree planting,
pruning and maintenance for over 3800 trees along city streets and
over 900 trees located in city parks. Trees are pruned to maintain
clearance over streets and sidewalks. Tree pruning is also done on
trees that are blocking street lights, signs, intersections and to
remove dead and broken limbs. Terrace trees are removed that
are dead, diseased or in poor condition.
www.cityofmonroe.org

A terrace tree planting program is offered in the spring and fall.

Property owners can purchase a tree from the department and the
Parks and Forestry staff will work with you to determine the planting
location and plant the tree. The trees are given a one year
guarantee. Over 2200 trees have been planted through this program
on city terraces since the planting program began in the fall of 1986.

In 2017, the National Arbor Day Foundation named Monroe a Tree

City USA for the 29th consecutive year. The Foundation recognizes
cities who meet the standards with their Urban Forestry Programs.
In 2017, Monroe also received a Tree City USA Growth Award. The
Growth Award recognizes Tree City communities that have made
significant improvements in their tree care efforts.
