If client prescribed support hose, put them


on before she get out of bed in the morning,
before veins become swollen, for best

This allows leg veins to drain and empty.
Collaborative:
Assess her to rest in a side-lying position with
her body tipped slightly forward (Sims
position). (Silbert-Flagg & Pillitteri, 2018) The active muscle contraction help venous to
return.

Avoid long periods of standing in one place;


Suggest her to take a “walk breaks”. (Silbert-
