LECTURER (MATHEMATICS)

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Faculty of Science has a permanent position
for a Lecturer at Pretoria/Arcadia Campuses.

Key Performance Areas/Core functions:

 Teach various modules in the fields of Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ and


Engineering Mathematics;
 Provide quality teaching and learning, with technology, in theory class and practicals;
 Participation in departmental, faculty and institutional committees relating to the leaning
programmes of the department;
 Participate in the community engagement initiatives/programmes of the
department/University;
 Liaise with other departments/faculties and help to improve success rate of students.
 Participate in the development of new modules/academic programmes; and,
 Perform any other administrative/academic tasks as may from time to time be assigned
by the Head of Department or Section-Head.

Minimum Requirements

Academic Qualifications
 A relevant M- degree or equivalent qualification in Mathematics or Applied
Mathematics with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics

Experience
 At least three (3) years teaching experience, preferably at an institution of higher
learning.
Knowledge and Skills

 Good communication and organizational skills
