SLAP for the 4th week of February

Scripture

Psalm 139: 1-6

You have searched me, LORD, and you know me.

2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.
6. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain

Lesson
When I was a kid, I was taught about not being a liar, do not do anything bad, and always obey
what is right because God is always watching. At a young age, I already realized that He knows
everything about us like no else. He knows us more than our parents and even ourselves. God is
interested in us. I know that he always understands us and feels empathy towards us because He
cares for us deeply even though we have sinned. These verses prove that God knows us inside
and out, and it is reassuring that there are one people who always got our back and knows us
personally, intimately, and not judging us like others. We do not need to prove ourselves that we
are good, kind, or other positive characteristics, and to know where we are, because He is our
God and God really knows us. Also, it is sad to say that there are people who abandon God but
our God does not abandon anyone and just waiting for His child to come back to His arms
because God is always with us. Every time we smile, cry, laugh, or in hardships – God is always
with us even if we feel that we’re lonely. Sometimes, I’ve felt lonely, not thinking that God is
waiting for me to call His name so He can lay His hands upon me. I have realized that God never
abandons me, and with that thinking in mind, it is indeed wonderful and too lofty for me to
attain.

Application
On this Saturday evening, I have felt that my day seems a waste with no work undone so I have
written this because there is a feeling that Ma’am Rosario’s verse for a week will somehow relate
to my life and it is indeed! I have felt that I am not productive at all but worried that I have so
many things to do even if I have done an advanced study and passed some of my requirements.
But now that I have remembered that God is always with us and look for us, I have felt that I am
now more concentrated and have more strength to face my work and it makes me wanted to
explore more for every day, I want to do more important things with God. As a college student, I
have dreams and that is being successful someday with my course, so after 4 more years, I will
view myself as a happy woman who is contented in her life and keeps striving because the future
me knows that God is with us whenever and wherever we are.
Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise Your wonderful name for that You are me with every step of the
way, and every moment of my day. I thank You for always guiding me whenever and wherever I
am and that you know me intimately and care for me so deeply. I know that I have done sins and
things that are unpleasant in your sight, I pray for your forgiveness. Keep me from secret sins
and prideful thoughts and help me to take every thought leading to you our Lord. Please guide
me every step of the way and make me more knowledgeable so I can elicit changes in my
environment and people that surround me for the better, and be an instrument to you to lead
other’s path to you, Lord. I say all these things in Jesus’ name, Amen. 

Scripture:
Psalm 139: 7-12

7 Where I can go from your Spirit? Where I can flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
If I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, If I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shone like the day, for darkness is as
light to you.

Lesson:
Just like the story in the book of Jonas. God is everywhere. We are all under the presence of God
and He knows the wisdom of the wisdom where humans cannot grasp. Even if it's heaven or hell,
God is always there. Even if we hide in the depth of the sea or flew from the place where the sun
cannot reach, God is always there. Same as our lives, God is also there – in our every walk,
every decision, every up and every down, when we are happy, or we are crying – and God will
never leave our side because we are His children. God will continue to guide us and lend His
right hand. Even if darkness tries to hide us in His presence where your life seems like falling
apart, there is always light they will shine upon us, and darkness will be light for we face the
darkness of our lives so it can be the light provided by the Lord. Even darkness is nothing to
God. In his mighty power, even the night shines as the day and that’s how God is ever-present in
every place we go to. So we have to remember that, “God is good all the time, all the time, God
is good”

Application:
In this time of pandemic where there is darkness everywhere and some think that God abandons
them, I will go to make more positivity by showing in my social media the good side and the
happiness that I have received from God. Starting from now, I will share words of God on social
media where my post can reach thousands of people to make them realize and feel the love of
God. As long as my post will be there in my account, there will be countless friends who will see
it in the next hour, next day, or weeks and for sure, they will be hugged in God’s presence and
touch their heart either they are in darkness or in light because He is our almighty God and also
our brother and friend.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, God of all creation, I thank you for all the love and care that you have
given to me and to all of your children here in this world. I am honored that I am able to come to
you and pour out my heart when I am burdened, lonely, or distressed. I thank you because I can
come to you when I am happy and everything in my life seems to be going well. Also, I am
deeply grateful because I can also come to you when I am sad and everything in my life seems to
fall out in place. It really made my feeling great and feel loved. Help me not to rely on myself or
forget that you are in control in all cases. Thank you for the many friends and love ones you have
put in my life who assist and inspire me on a daily basis. Give me a stronger desire to know you,
to understand your will, and to have the wisdom to put it into practice in my life. Please forgive
me when I fall short of your expectations. I say these things, in the name of our beloved God,
Amen.

Psalm 139: 13-18
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know
that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven
together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, (a) God! How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand – when I awake, I am still
with you

Lesson
God knew each of us before we were born. He made us in the most detailed living things here on
Earth. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made and we are all the most blessed of all the
blessed. Just like all the scripture in the bible, the predictions before any situation happens, his
birth, death, and resurrection. He knew the life. He is in control and all things happen according
to his word and his word never fails. With that, He promised to be with us all the time. The day
we were born is the day where our purpose here in this world was opened. Because everyone
lives with purpose here on Earth – with that, we can prove that we are watched and we are all
important and recognized to the eyes of our God. For Him, we are not just humans, we are
humans, we are His mankind – was shaped and made in His own appearance. He always gives
our inner kind desires, He blessed us and feel us loved so it is also important to seek Him and
explore your purpose here on Earth while we live for Him and serve Him. So no matter what,
trust Him. 
Application
Now that I have thought about all the blessings that God gave me, I can say that I cannot and I
will never really count it for my blessing was numbers that I cannot count. Even if sometimes, I
commit sin, He is always there and never leaves my side. So from now on, I will always
remember to trust the process that God made me through and walk in His path. I will trust Him
even if my life seems so hard and I cannot walk, I will walk because I trust Him. I will trust Him
and use my wisdom if I will be wronged by others, after all, God knew everything and is in
control of all things and is working them to His purpose. I will let God plan for myself and just
be humble to others. I will try my best to listen to his words and surrender my heart and mind to
Him in every prayer that I will do every morning and evening to praise Him and show my love
for Him.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your wonderful love. You created my inmost being; you
knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully
made. I thank you for this wonderful scripture where I realized my importance and my purpose.
Help us to value life as highly as You do, and to be good stewards of not only the bodies You’ve
created for us, but also the short period You’ve given us on Earth to do your will and glorify
You. Remind us of your precious and persistent thoughts for us, so that we can place our identity
and self-confidence in You. Give me a willing heart so that you can function through me. Give
me the insight where and how you want me to be included and give comfort to those who are in
distress. I pray in the name of Jesus my savior
