DOUGLAS COUNTY BOC HIRES NEW COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR

Douglasville, Georgia – The Douglas County Board of Commissioners today announced the
hiring of Ms. Sharon D. Subadan as the new County Administrator for Douglas County, Georgia.
Recognized as a highly skilled manager and a dynamic senior executive, Ms. Subadan brings a
proven track record of success in building effective teams, creating opportunities for growth, and
implementing fiscally responsible budgets.

Ms. Subadan’s career in public service spans over 30-years with a wealth of knowledge and
experience with Miami-Dade County, Florida, Montgomery County, Maryland, Hillsborough
County (Tampa), Florida, and Albany, Georgia.

Her government leadership roles have been with budgets exceeding $4.4 billion, employee
counts of more than 4,200, and populations up to 1.4 million residents with a record of
achievement that shows groundbreaking and advancement of progressive improvement
initiatives.

Previously serving as the City Manager of Albany since 2015, Ms. Subadan served a population
of close to 74,000 people with 1,174 employees and successfully managed a budget of $290.3
million.

She is the Southwest District Regional Director for the Georgia City & County Managers
Association (GCCMA) and serves on several Georgia Municipal Association committees. She
brings a wealth of knowledge on finances having served as Treasurer for the Albany Economic
Development Commission and Secretary/Treasurer for the Albany Convention & Visitors
Bureau.

Ms. Subadan has a master’s degree from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s
degree from Trinity International University. She is an International City/County Management
Association (ICMA) Credentialed Manager, a Certified Public Manager and a Lean Six-Sigma
Black belt who is passionate about servant leadership in the public space.

She and her husband Carl have three sons, two of whom live in the Atlanta metro area with their
wives, and a 6-year old grandson.
