 engages in moderate to vigorous physical activities for at least 60 minutes a day
in and out of school. PE10PF-Ib-h-45
 applies correct techniques to minimize risk of injuries PE10PF-Ib-h56

II. SUBJECT MATTER

A. TOPIC
Body Mass Index, Push up, Basic Plank, Sit and Reach, and Zipper Test
B. REFERENCES
 Online sources and Physical Education and Health 10-LM
C. MATERIALS
 P.E. uniform, stop watch, tape measure, weighing scale, notebook, and
ballpen

III. PROCEDURE
A. ACTIVITY (WHAT DO I KNOW?)
Let the students wear their P.E. uniform for 5 mins. Ask one student to lead
the warm-up exercise. Ask the students if they know how to get their height
and measure their weight, how to compute for their BMI, how to do the push-
up, basic plank, sit and reach, and zipper test.
B. ANALYSIS
Ask the following questions:
 How do you do the compute for your BMI?
 How do you perform the push-up, basic plank, sit and reach, and zipper test?
 What components of Physical Fitness are being measured by these tests?

C. ABSTRACTION
To get your BMI, you need to use the formula BMI= w/h(m 2). Push-up and basic
plank is done in a prone lying position by straightening your legs and body. In push-up
you measure how many times you’ve done it right while in basic plank you measured
how long you can do the plank. Sit and reach is done by straightening your back and it
should touch the wall, your legs should be 90 degrees open and then measured the
longest point you can reach. Zipper Test is done by reaching your right hand by your left
hand through your back and the other way around. BMI measures our body
composition, push-up and basic plank measures our strength, while sit and reach and
zipper test measures our flexibility.

D. APPLICATION
Discuss the do’s and don’ts before and after having Physical Fitness Test. Discuss
the proper preparatory position and the proper ways of doing the abovementioned
physical fitness tests.

IV. EVALUATION
Ask the students to record all the results of the 5 abovementioned physical fitness
tests in their P.E. notebooks with their partners. The results of the tests serve as their
evaluation.

B. ANALYSIS
Ask the following questions:
 How do you do the juggling, hexagon agility test, standing long jump, and stork
balance stand test?
 What components of Physical Fitness are being measured by these tests?

C. ABSTRACTION
Juggling is done using an object/coin to be thrown by one hand in the air and
then passed to the other hand. Hexagon agility test is done by jumping clockwise and
counterclockwise in a hexagon. Standing long jump is done by measuring the student’s
longest jump using a tape measure. It is done twice. Lastly, the stork balance stand test
is done by lifting your one foot while the ball of the other foot is touching the ground and
your hand on your waist. It is done both in right and left foot. Juggling measures our
coordination particularly, hand and eye coordination. Hexagon agility test measures our
agility. Standing long jump measures our power and stork balance stand test measures
our balance.

D. APPLICATION
Discuss the dos and don’ts before and after having Physical Fitness Test. Discuss
the proper preparatory position and the proper ways of doing the abovementioned
physical fitness tests.

IV. EVALUATION

it without the other pair knowing when. 3-minute step is done by group measuring the
heartbeat per minute before and after having the 3-minute step while the 40-meter
