For describing I have chosen the most appropriate movie for me, John Wick (2014).

The most important reason why i have chosen this movie is because of Keanu Reeves who is
playing the main character John Wick. It was always interesting for me to watch a movie
with an actor who is not acting like was always used to be. In the real life Keanu is as simple
as possible, despite of his celebrity status he doesn’t take advatage of it, he is polite, generous
and a helpful person when in the movie he had to play the role of hitman who was doing his
job without excuses and regrets.
The first impression from movie was something that you can not describe. When you
start watching the movie well known as an action thriller, you expect the beggining to be
more like an action scene with a lot of blood and murders where you allready get to know the
main character and what he represents being in the role of an undisputed hitman. But not in
John Wick, from the beggining you start to feel depressing and sorry for the main character
because he has lost his meaning of life, his path, and the happiness that he has got after many
years of being alone.
His wife, after many years figting with an uncurable desease, died. This was the
starting point of this movie, after that you can observe the first scenes, where John is doing
his morning routine like brushing his tooth and making the morning coffee. Here i was
amazed by the chosen camera angles. While watching you can notice some small details like
two toothbrushes or two cups near the coffee machine that makes us understand that John did
not come along with the feelings of living without his beloved wife.
When you are already sad of what happened to main character and try to live his
feelings here comes the letter. I think that was one of my favourite parts of the movie. A
courier came to John’s house and gave him a cage and a letter. As one final gift in the wake
of her passing, Helen sent John a puppy named Daisy, alongside a letter written by her that
asked John to accept her death and find peace for the remainder of his life. I almost cried
watching this scene, i could feel the pain and hope at the same time that comes with
happiness of finding a new reason to live.
The happiness was not for long time because in the next scene i understood what the
movie is about. It all comes when Iosef Tarasov the son of mafiotic’s organisation leader
Viggo, broke into the Wick residence, stole John's car, and executed Daisy. With his wife's
final gift gone. And here i understood that the movie will be about revenge, John reverted to
his former self and proceeded to avenge both Daisy and the last memory of his wife.
Keanu Reeves plays two completely different people in the first and second parts of the
picture. His John from a peaceful life is a deeply wounded, unhappy, lost person who has lost
all meaning of life, but ordinary, like many others, and not a single perverted brain will ever
recognize this person with an extinct gaze as a ruthless killer. In the next 20 minutes, we
learn more about the hero than a whole separate film could tell: a small clip of the happy past
from the phone is enough to understand the reasons, and the strongest scene in the basement
is enough to understand the full scale of the decision once made. John, who smashes the
concrete floor with a sledgehammer, once did not just bury his past, he literally walled it up
so that all the skeletons left there would never remind of themselves and, moreover, would
not come to life. The authors also use the strongest symbol - water. (The scene where he was
taking shower) A symbol of rebirth, and that's exactly what happens to Wick. He is reborn, as
if he is being born again.
All his further adventures are most similar to a shooting game, John kills, crumbles,
destroys, rushes ahead to his goal. Of course, the dog became the main motive, and the hero
does not just take revenge, he lets off steam in these crazy actions, as if he speaks to everyone
who is able to understand in a language well known to him. Well, as i mentioned that it was
similar to a shooting game, it was not a fluke. Everything was so amazingly filmed that you
think it was graphic designed, despite the almost incessant shooting and scuffle, the camera
does not shake, as if in the hands of a robot , and all the details of the combat ballet are
clearly visible.
In my modest opinion, one of the strongest points of the movie were the dialogues
between John and another characters. Each dialogue is short and involves a deep meaning
and this fact makes you think more about John’s past and his life as a killer because “John
Wasn’t Exactly ‘The Boogeyman.’ He Was The One You Sent To Kill The F**Kin’
Boogeyman” and always this kind of phrases makes you think what tipe o person John Wick
is.
