Chapter 1

INTRODUCTION

It is the study of the pratices and possibilities of music .music


theory is frequently concerned with describing how musicians and
composers make music;music theory means knowing the language of
music .the main thing to know about music theory is that is simply a
way to explain the music we hear .
The concepts and rules that make up music theory are very much
like the grammatical rule that govern written language
.andcomprehensive insight into the the fundamental notations of
music theory music notations; rues of harmony ,ear training etc. It
covers most of the needed to understand and develop your musical
skill music theory was develop to describe the music that had already
been written and to describe the commn ‘rules ‘or trend that allmusic
seemed to share :music theory gives you insight into how all the
notes and rhythms are put together in a composition .music theory
are very music like the grammatical rules that govern written
language .Being able to transcribe music makes it possible for other
musicians to read and play compositions exactly as the composers
intended

Music theory and Music composition you’ll learn the Language
of music your classes will involve a lot of ear training ,which sharpens
your listening skills .
You’ll learn to write down chords and melodies as you hear them
analyze the structure of musical pieces ,and compose your own
music. The study of music theory and composition it can improve your
skills as a performing musician

APPLICATION- when learning music theory ,most program take
a general approach at the beggining . You learn about scales
,intervals , chords and so on .and you’ll get to point where what
you’re learning about in the classroom starts to apply to what youre
doing on your instrument . Beyond just learning theory you must try
and learn things that apply to your genre of music .when learning
music theory students may be curious about now each not was
chosen or why a song sound the way it does . It canprogress are
writing composition and it can help also use to understand which note
work togethere . All understanding of interval , scales , and key will
help students why notes are place togethere and it can help students
to learn different musical instrument . You will know how to put notes
and rhythm togethere in a composition . It can helps to understand
how a piece of music works .you will learn the language of the music
works . You classes will involve a lot of ear training . It can provides a
language for composers and musiciansto communicate with each
other. And to write and perform , music accurately . It can exposed us
to unfamiliar music . It can improve critical reasoning skill.

IMPORTANCE-
Musical students often view music theory as a chore, and some
musicians wear their lack of music theory knowleged as a badge of
honor . There is a reason that all music students generally take
atleast four semester of basic music theory . It is because otherwise,
we cannot communicate musical ideas to each other . While in a
theory we can learn . How to read and write english but when it
comes to music must of us only know how to read it and have little to
no idea . How it works that is the point of music theory :to explain how
music works.
