KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
Knowledge management is a process that helps companies identify, select, organize,
disseminate, and transfer important information and skills that are part of the
company's memory and which usually reside in the company in an unstructured form.
Turban explained that the Knowledge Management System was developed using
three sets of technologies, namely: communication, collaboration, and storage and
retrieval.

So far, the problem that is often faced by many companies is that data and
information are still held by individuals. It is even worse if the data and information
are stored only in the memory of the individual. If the related person leaves or
retires, the data and information will be lost with that person. Imagine if it was
important information that could be used for the continuity of the company, it just
disappeared because the previous employee who had the information left and there
was no substitute who had the same expertise.

For this reason, companies need to have a knowledge management system that is
capable of being a store of knowledge that can be accessed easily by the company,
and ensures that this knowledge will be stored permanently in the company's
memory so that it can be applied continuously.

Ask The Expert

It is a module where users can ask questions and discuss with experts from
various fields in the system. Users can ask questions and rate experts, experts
can answer questions and also give ratings or weight ratings to incoming
questions.

Taxonomy Engine

Knowledge taxonomy management engine where admin can manage facets of


taxonomy. Hierarchically, taxonomy will be used in various elements in this
KMS kendiri. Especially in Search Engines which will link your search with
existing repositories.

Form Builder

In the creation and management of knowledge, often the forms required are
very diverse. Therefore, this system provides a form builder feature to form
various forms that can be used in the creation and uploading of knowledge.

Knowledge Base

The system documents that underlie a company are needed to be accessible


freely limited. For example, such as procedures, work instructions, etc. which
should be read by all stakeholders but cannot easily be disseminated because
they are protected by the KMS system itself.

Because easy access to information is the vision and main key of the KMS
application itself.

The articles and document repositories that will appear and become
references for users will be displayed according to the interests of the users
which have been collected from various data such as choice of interests and
also reading history of users.

Blog

In addition to knowledge documents, in sharing knowledge and knowledge,


stakeholders can also create articles or blogs to share experiences and good
writing to the public.

Point & Reward

Points & Rewards are certainly interesting enough to increase the interest
in contributions from users. The admin can arrange from the points, what
are the activities and how many points.
