The overall health in some communities maybe compromised due to diseases,

hazards, violence, etc..

Community health nurses serve the public in their own environments to improve
healthcare, they work toward providing successful outcomes for situations.
They serve as agents of healthful changes in communities. Because of their
interaction with underserved populations, community health nurses can advocate for
better services and inform policymakers about needed reforms in healthcare.

They may do this by following a systematic process:

 Assessing the needs of the community.

 Exhibiting awareness and sensitivity to a community’s cultural, and


socioeconomic makeup.

 Coordinating healthcare.

 Applying scientific research to healthcare.
