Abstract

This research studies two factors of Job Satisfaction. 1) The impact of Pay Satisfaction on the
overall Job Satisfaction has been studied in detail. 2) Then the impact of Satisfaction with
Supervisor on the overall Job Satisfaction of employees was studied. The combined relationship
of these two variables on the overall Job Satisfaction was also studied. Hypotheses were
developed that were proved with all the empirical data.
Data was collected through questionnaires from different branches of banks included in the
sample size. Data was collected from different banks in Peshawar. A total of 150 questionnaires
were distributed but only 125 were returned. Because of the time and resources shortage and the
limited response of the respondents was the main reason why the data was not collected on a
larger scale.
The actual results of the research show that 1) there is a positive relationship between Pay
Satisfaction and overall Job Satisfaction and 2) There is a positive relationship between
Satisfaction with Supervisor and Job Satisfaction. And the combined effect of these two
variables on the overall Job Satisfaction was also positive.
The change in Satisfaction level of these two independent variables brings about considerable
change in the dependant variable i.e. Job Satisfaction. Therefore the Null hypothesis developed
for rejection has been rejected and hypothesis H1 has been accepted.
The literature also shows that Job Satisfaction is positively related to these two variables (Pay
Satisfaction and Satisfaction from Supervisor). And Job Satisfaction is positively related to each
of the variables separately. The performance and dedication of the employees increase with
overall Job Satisfaction. Hence there is strong support of my findings in the literature review as
well.
