What is Spike Extra 11.2 EC

An emulsifiable concentrate, broad spectrum insecticide for the control of Aphids, Diamond Back
Moth Larvae, White

Flies, Red Spider Mite and Boll Worms in vegetable crops. It is a combination product containing
Emamectin Benzoate,

an Avermectin and Acetamiprid, a Neonicotinoid.

Mode of Action

The product exhibits both stomach and contact action. It penetrates leaf tissues (translaminar
activity – moves from one

side of the leaf to the other) and forms a reservoir within the leaf. Emamectin Benzoate inhibits
muscle contraction,

causing a continuous flow of chlorine ions in the GABA and H-Glutamate receptor sites resulting in
the paralysis of the

pest. Acetamiprid interrupts brain signals throughout the insect’s body. Insects are affected within
30 minutes of treatment

with excitement, then paralysis, and finally extermination. Acetamiprid exhibits ovicidal, larvicidal,
and adulticidal activity,

meaning it works at all stages of insect development.

Apply as full cover spray, making use of hollow or full

cone nozzles. Use the higher application rate when

applied upon infestation. Use the lower rate for

subsequent applications when applied in a regular

spray program. It is important to commence scouting

for pests early. Under conditions of continuous reinfestation,

use in a spray program at 7-10 days

intervals. The crop may be harvested 10 days after

application.

Note: The product also effectively controls Tuta absoluta in Tomatoes and Fall Armyworm (FAW) in
Maize at the

same application rates

Compatibility

It is advisable to use this product on its own, furthermore, the quality of water in the mixture may
adversely affect its

compatibility.
