1. Diosdado Banatao He developed the first single-chip graphical user
interface accelerator that made computers work
faster.
 This invention allowed computer users to
use graphics or commands and not the
usual typed commands in older computers.
 It has allowed data processing to be a little
faster using very little space, with small
chips instead of large boards.
2. Ramon Cabanos Barba He invented a way to induce more flowers in
mango trees using ethrel and potassium nitrate.
3. Ernesto “Ernie” Baron Known as the Philippine Walking Encyclopedia, he
was also the inventor of the so-called DC Super
Antenna or Baron Super Antenna, a sophisticated
yet reasonably-priced outdoor TV antenna.
4. Alexis Belonio First Filipino to receive the Rolex Award for
Enterprise in 2008 for his invention of a low-cost
and environment friendly rice husk stove
5. Daniel Dinger An engineer who claimed to have invented a
“hydrogen reactor” able to power a water-fuelled
car.
6. Pedro Flores A businessman and yo-yo maker who has been
credited with popularizing Yo-yos in the United
States.
7. Francisco Quisumbing A botanist claimed to be the inventor of Quink ink
used by the Parker Pen company
8. Robert del Rosario An entrepreneur who served as the president of the
Trebel Music Corporation. He is also the patent
holder of the Sing Along System, a karaoke system
he developed in 1975.
9. Eulogio Camacho Tibay He invented a special crew which can withstand all
kinds of motion and vibration, a corrugated plastic
roofing assembly; a cigarette filter and an
amphibian vehicle.
10. Magdalena Smith Villaruz Originally a rice farmer, she went on to transform
agricultural technology by creating the turtle hand
tractor, also known as the power cultivator.
11. Gregorio Zara An engineer and physicist, he invented the first
two-way videophone.
12. Gavino Trono Jr.  “Father of Kappaphycus farming”
He was conferred the rank National Scientist of the
Philippines for his contributions to the study of
tropical marine phycology, focusing on seaweed
diversity.

13. Fe del Mundo Known in the field of pediatrics, she invented the
first medical incubator.
14. Danvic Briones Drawn inspiration from the sad fate of several
Typhoon Ondoy victims, he invented the Rescue 72,
a life vest and survival kit in one.
 Rescue 72 is equipped with compartments
into which one can put water-proof bags
containing first aid kits, water, light snacks,
and other items essential for survival.
15. Edgardo Vasquez He invented the Vazbuilt Modular Housing System.
 It is a concept of a prefabricated or ready-to-
build housing system, an easy to build and
less time to construct walls, floors, columns
and window panels which can potentially
solved the country’s housing backlog.
16. Marc Loinaz He invented the One Chip Video camera.
17. Abelardo Aguilar He formulated Erythromycin, a known antibiotic.
18. Rodolfo Aquino He isolated nine specific breeds of rice for the
International Rice Research Institute. This
discoveries helped prevent famine in much of Asia.
19. Jayme Navarro He discovered a method of converting plastic bags
into fuel.
20. Sofronio Pasola, Jr. He invented a military-themed board game famously
known as the “Games of the General”
21. Maria Orosa Famous in the field of food technology, she created
the recipe for banana catsup, which is used as a
substitute for tomato catsup, and was widely
popularized by Max’s, one of the biggest fried
chicken restaurant chains in the Philippines
22. Agapito Flores Flourescent Lamp
23. Angel Alcala He is behind the invention of artificial coral reefs
used for fisheries in Southeast Asia.
