Job Description - Internship

Reports to: Operation Manager & specialist consultant

Company Background:
Business Game Changers (BGC) is a mission-focused, family-friendly, highly ethical business
consulting company providing consulting services and executive coaching to scale-up
entrepreneurs.

Internship overview: A fixed 2-year internship allowing for flexibility of working hours
suitable for a young want-to-be-entrepreneur with a university degree. Are you passionate
about the idea of owning your own business one day but you lack the necessary experience
or know-how? Are you keen to learn about the world of successful elite entrepreneurs that
have made it through the start-up phase and now need to scale their businesses? If you are

Business Game Changers itself is transitioning into a scale-up phase and requires a passionate
intern to assist in delivering reliable, timeous services to maintain a high trust relationship
with each of our clients. A critical component is to ensure that we timeously deliver critical
reports that enable our clients to take the next steps in a composed way as they scale their
businesses.

Responsibilities, duties, and opportunities:

• Month 1-6: Learn how-to phase

o 30 days induction & orientation (understanding our business) guided by the


operation manager
o Gather, organize and compile information provided by a client before a
workshop
o Attend at least one of the 5 different types of informative workshops with
the CEO of Business Game Changers, and while doing so conceptually gain an
understanding of and learn how the CEO of Business Game Changers assist
elite Scale-Up entrepreneurs.
o Gain an understanding and then develop a framework to generate high
quality, precise and excellent reports for our clients empowering them to
scale their business
o Translate information and insights into business frameworks producing vital
actionable reports enabling the client to take the next steps alongside.

• Month 6-18: Do-it (work independently) phase

o Independently generate reports after each workshop (Workshops are


presented by the CEO and other Key-Account-Managers inside Business
Game Changers’s team of 4)
o Optimise the handover process before, during and after workshops and assist
with the generation of close out reporting, doing so from the perspective of
the 10X methodology for scale ups
o Work under supervision and report to the Operations manager for support
o Deliver Reports to Specialist Consultants within pre-agreed timelines and
against a set service levels and standards.

• Month 18-24: Train and handover phase

o Train & induce the new intern

Qualifications & Work experience
The following are minimum requirements for application:
● Tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s degree, ideally science, engineering, IT or
technically advanced field)
● Interested in entrepreneurship, commerce, business development and business
growth
● Male, 30 years of age or younger
● Fluency in a language (other than Afrikaans or English)
● Must be willing and available to travel nationally for the first 6-months
● Able to work independently and be adaptable in a quick-changing environment
● Basic computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
and Google suite of products

Candidates with the following requirements would be ideal:

● 2-3 years work experience as a waitor or volunteering at a cause you feel passionate
about
● Personality profile:
o Intelligent high achiever
o Brings others’ ideas to life through the implementation of those ideas and
the nurturing of their growth
o Administratively inclined, detail-orientated, accurate
o Able to learn quickly inside a dynamic and changing environment

Fees and hours


● Fee will be negotiated in line with market related fees for this type of internship
● Approximately 100-160 hours per month.
● You will be working as an independent contractor and invoice the company on a
monthly basis

Work Environment & Requirements

● a functional high-quality smartphone with WhatsApp and proper internet access in
the event you may need to make phone calls and contact clients
● a workspace/study where you are able to work uninterrupted and in a highly
efficient way inside a safe and secure home/flat
