Answer the following problems.

Show all of your work. Have the correct units. Circle your answer.

1. What is the current in a 160V circuit if the resistance is 2Ω?

V= 160 V

I= 160V / 2Ω = 80 A

R= 2Ω

2. What is the current in a 160V circuit if the resistance is 20Ω?

V= 160 V

I= 160 V / 20 Ω = 8 A

R= 20 Ω

3. What is the current in a 160V circuit if the resistance is 10Ω?

V= 160 V

I= 160 V / 10 Ω = 16 A

R= 10 Ω

4. What is the current in a 160V circuit if the resistance is 5Ω?

V= 160 V

I= 160 V / 5 Ω = 32 A

R= 5 Ω

5. Based on questions 2, 3, and 4, what happens to the current in a circuit as the resistance decreases?
Increases? Answer: When the resistance increase the current decrease, when the current is decrease
the resistance increase.

6. What voltage is required to move 6A through 5Ω?

V= 30 V

I= 6 A x 5 Ω = 30 V

R= 6 A

7. What voltage is required to move 6A through 10Ω?

V= 60 V

I= 6 A x 10 Ω = 60 V
R= 10 Ω

8. What voltage is required to move 6A through 20Ω?

V= 120 V

I= 6 A x 20 Ω = 120 V

R= 20 Ω

9. Based on questions 6, 7, and 8, what happens to the voltage required in a circuit as the resistance
decreases? Increases? When the resistance decrease the voltage decrease, when the resistance increase
the voltage increase.
