The government has launched Kisan Rath for sale and purchase of vegetables and crops in lockdown due to coronavirus so that farmers can easily sell their goods and traders can buy. According to
the information given on the play-store, Kisan Rath will help farmers and traders across the country to take agricultural produce to the market. Through the Kisan Rath App, farmers and traders will
get information about transport vehicles (trucks or other carrying vehicles). The app will also have information about the time and place of arrival of the truck, after which farmers will be able to sell
fruits, vegetables and grains at a fixed time and place. Using the app transporters can also get their vehicle registered for transportation of goods.

Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar, launched transport aggregator mobile app- Kisan Rath, which will bring together 5 lakh trucks and 20,000 tractors on mobile platform for
transporting farm produce to markets from farm gate.

Various social media platforms were used to promote such as Twitter, Facebook and many more. Using social media for promotion helped over 1.5 lakh Farmers, Traders as well as 5 lakh
trucks and over 20,000 tractors registered on it.

Narendra Singh Tomar and various government portals posted about kisan app launch to spread awareness about app.
This Social media promotion helped in spreading awareness among farmers and intermediary which results in getting over 1.5 lakh Farmers, Traders as well as 5 lakh trucks and over 20,000 tractors
registered on it.
Business Model:
While harvesting and sowing is going on, transportation will become easier with the Kisan Rath app as it will help farmers and traders for transporting produce from farm gate to mandi and
mandi to mandi all over the country. At this juncture while the country is passing through the COVID-19 situation, this ‘Kisan Rath’ App will greatly facilitate farmers, FPOs and Cooperatives in the
country to have the choice to find a suitable transport facility to transfer their agriculture produce from farm gate to markets.
The Mobile Application “Kisan Rath” facilitates Farmers and Traders in identifying right mode of transportation for movement of farm produce ranging from foodgrain (cereal, coarse cereal,
pulses etc), Fruits & Vegetables, oil seeds, spices, fiber crops, flowers, bamboo, log & minor forest produce, coconuts etc. This App also facilitates traders in transportation of perishable commodities
by Reefer (Refrigerated) vehicles.
Transportation of agri produce is critical and indispensable component of supply chain. Under the extraordinary situation prevailing in the country currently due to lockdown, “Kisan Rath”
will ensure smooth and seamless supply linkages between farmers, warehouses, FPOs, APMC mandis and intra-State & inter-State buyers and help in reduction of food wastage by providing timely
services. All these will contribute in better prices for perishable commodities.
The Consignors (farmer, FPOs, buyer/ trader) places a requirement for transportation on this app which is disseminated to transport aggregators in the market, who in turn interface with
various truckers and fleet owners for obtaining a competitive quote against the requirement and passes back the quote and trucker details to the Consignor. Thereafter, the Consignor directly
negotiates off line with the trucker and finalizes the deal. Once the trip is completed, the user can provide a rating/ feedback for the trucker in the App which, over a period of time, becomes feedback
mechanism for the transporter to improve their services. This would also help the Consignors in the selection process of Logistics Service Providers in future.
Kisan Rath App
Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare had launched “Kisan Rath” App on 17 April to facilitate Farmers and Traders in identifying right mode of transportation for movement of farm produce
ranging from food grain (cereal, coarse cereal, pulses etc), Fruits & Vegetables, oil seeds, spices, fiber crops, flowers, bamboo, log & minor forest produce, coconuts etc. Till date, total of 80,474
farmers and 70,581 traders are registered on this App. It aims to connect farmers and traders through the Kisan Rath app, which is expected to connect with this network of over 5 lakh trucks and
20,000 tractors.
This App that will facilitate farmers and traders to identify suitable transport facilities for the movement of farm produce during coronavirus lockdown. The App will allow transportation of farm
produce from farm gate to mandi and from one to another mandi. It will ensure seamless supply linkages between farmers, FPOs, APMC mandis and intra-state and inter-state buyers.
This app will also reduce wastage and contribute to better pricing of perishable commodities. Developed by the National Informatics Centre, Kisan Rath app will facilitate farmers and traders in
searching for transport vehicles for primary and secondary transportation for movement of agriculture and horticulture produce. Primary transportation would include movement from Farm to
Mandis, FPO Collection Centre and Warehouses etc. Secondary Transportation would include movement from Mandis to Intra-state & Inter-state mandis, Processing units, Railway station,
Warehouses and Wholesalers etc.
The procurement of Pulses and Oilseeds on MSP is currently in progress in 20 States. A quantity of 1,79,852.21 MT of Pulses and 1,64,195.14 MT of Oilseeds has been procured by the National
Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd.(NAFED) and Food Corporation of India (FCI) valued at Rs.1605.43 crore through which 2,05,869 farmers have been benefited .
The farmers are now cutting the wheat as the season has started for the cutting of the wheat to provide this to the citizens. Through the launch of this application, the farmer can book the trucks and
tractors while sitting at their homes. The network of the app has around 5.7 lakh trucks which can be booked under the uber platform. Through this Kisan Rath mobile app the farmer, as well as the
truck/tractors owner, will be benefitted. More employment will be created and this will have a planned result on the economy.
The government has launched the Kisan Rath app during a difficult time of lockdown. With the help of this app, farmers will be able to deal with their traders of fruits, vegetables and other produce.
This app can be easily downloaded into mobile by visiting the Play Store. With the help of the app, farmers from all over the country will be able to reach their market easily.
With the help of the app, farmers and traders will get information about other freight vehicles including trucks. It will also get information about the time and place of arrival of the truck. After this,
farmers will be able to sell their fruits, vegetables or grains by going to the fixed time and place. With the help of the app, transporters can also register their car for the transportation of goods.

A new Kisan Rath mobile app will enable farmers and traders to easily move produced goods in the country.
The Agriculture Ministry has introduced a new mobile app for the farmers in India amidst nationwide lockdown. The app will assist Indian farmers and traders transport produced goods during the
ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Kisan Rath mobile app will help facilitate transportation by onboarding 5 lakh trucks and 20,000 tractors on the online service. These networks will be easily accessible to farmers and traders
who are looking for vehicles to transport the produced goods from one place to another.
The new mobile platform will also offer different types of transport services including primary transport and secondary transport. The primary service will help farmers or traders to move the goods
within the locality; from their farm to the local mandis, warehouses or the collection centres of farmer producer organisations.
The secondary transport will enable them to transport goods from the mandis or warehouses to intra-and inter-State mandis, railway stations, processing units, warehouses or wholesalers. In addition,
the app also offers transport services with refrigerators.
Apart from the above features, the app also offers support for Hindi language so it can be easily accessed by farmers and traders.
The Kisan Rath app has been developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and is available to all Android users.
Once the app has been downloaded, farmers or traders will simply need to place a requirement for transportation on the mobile app for the desired service, and details of the trucker will be sent to
them.

which both sides can take advantage of this app. It will also be monitored by the government so that farmers are not harmed.
