ACTIVITY ON THE BASIC CONCEPTS OF DRRM

Santa Fe is a 3rd class municipality in the Province of Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines. The municipal district has 16 barangays. The Municipality of Santa Fe is one
of Nueva Vizcaya’s agricultural powerhouse towns because its fertile soil is deemed suitable for almost any type of crop. Santa Fe is an ancestral domain that covers
some of the mountain ranges of the western section of Caraballo Mountains comprising mountain forests and farm lands with high levels of biodiversity.

WHAT:
Landslides

WHY:
Because of the constructions and widening of national highway and barangay roads (local roads), the soil of the mountains
weakened that may fall during heavy rains.

WHERE:
Along the national highway, and Barangay Roads (Local Roads)

WHEN:
Landslides happen during Rainy Seasons, and continuous rain fall, Heavy Rain Falls

HOW:
When a problem arises, especially landslides, the government unit of Santa Fe is always ready. Personnels were trained and have
experiences because we, people of santa fe are used to landslides. The DENR unit of Santa Fe and other personnel immediately
remove the blockage with the use of heavy equipments like backhoes and truck loads, and with the help of SantaFenios.
